London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with a history stretching back to Roman times. At its center stands the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.
Australia is a unique and diverse country in every way – in culture, population, climate, geography, and history. For articles on specific topics about Australian history and culture. Australian culture is as broad and varied as the country’s landscape. Australia is multicultural and multiracial and this is reflected in the country’s food, lifestyle and cultural practices and experience.
Australia has a huge heritage from its indigenous people, which plays a defining role in the cultural landscape.
This diversity of influences creates a cultural environment in Australia that is lively, energized, innovative and outward looking. Australia’s first inhabitants, the Aboriginal people, were believed to have migrated from some unknown point in Asia to Australia between 50,000 and 60,000 years ago.
While Captain James Cook is credited with Australia’s European discovery in 1770, a Portuguese, possibly first sighted the country, while the Dutch are known to have explored the coastal regions in the 1640s.
The first European settlement of Australia was in January 1788, when the First Fleet sailed into Botany Bay under the command of Captain Arthur Phillip. Originally established as a penal colony, by the 1830s the number of free settlers was increasing. Transportation of convicts to the eastern colonies was abolished in 1852 and to the western colonies in 1868.
Taking your holidays in Egypt is the best value for money and you get a chance to experience and see 7,000 years of history and civilization.Taking a moment to realize that Egypt is more than 7,000 years old and was home to one of the best documented civilizations of the world, is breathtaking on its own. Across the centuries and millennia there have been numerous cultures and peoples who have lived in Egypt and ruled it too. The result of that nowadays, are the leftover monuments and memoirs representing cultural diversity, human life and survival through it all.
Egypt’s location, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea from its northern tip and the Red Sea from its eastern side, with the river Nile splitting it down the middle, gives Egypt a striking and strategic position. You can say it is in the center of the world and is the cradle of civilization. This location ensures Egypt’s wide selection and variety of beaches, resorts, and cities by the river, making your holiday in Egypt an unforgettable one.
Starting by telling you about Egypt’s capital and the biggest city in Africa only makes sense. Cairo is home to 17 million people and attracts professionals, families and young, vibrant students from all over the world looking to learn Arabic or immerse themselves in Egyptian culture. This multicultural city, spread over on either side of the Nile, is home to Pharaonic,Islamic and Coptic monuments as well as statues and streets from the turn of the century and the Ottoman Empire. Downtown and Zamalek districts are famous for their beautiful European style architecture, giving downtown Cairo the title of “Paris along the Nile”. Cairo is a vibrant city that never sleeps full of restaurants, cafes and food stands. Walking through the crowds of people, cars and microbuses and embracing the randomness of the city is one of the most interesting experiences some come to find. Outside of Cairo, people also enjoy taking a day trip to Fayoum to see the oasis and the beautiful lakes along with waterfalls and natural scenery.
There are three airports, among them Sheremeryevo (SVO) is the most convenient option – Aeroflot, Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Alitalia, Air China, SAS, China Eastern, China Southern, Delta and some other companies use this port in Moscow. Each Airport has a train to Down Town, but driving is not too long from SVO (unlike from others) either. If you download a taxi application like GETTAXI or UBER to your smartphone, connected to your card, it will work fast and easy, I use them all the time. On the map Moscow looks like a set of circles, one inside another. The closer to the middle you stay, the better it is. If you don’t care about money there are some 5-star hotels, but not all of them worth their price. For example, the Ritz Carlton has no good view at all, but around the corner there is a less expensive art-nouveau style hotel National (Starwood network), built in 1903, with Kremlin view (some of the rooms) and full of history. There are also new Moskwa (Four Seasons) – in front of Red Square, Intercontinental on Tverskaea street – very close to nice cafes and restaurants, Tchaikovsky music hall and Patryarshye Ponds (one of my lovely areas for walking, drinking and spending time in Moscow). The best value on my view has four-stars Courtyard by Marriott City Centre – located on Voznesensky side-street, in front of the beautiful Anglican Chapel, nearby Conservatory (classical music hall) and tens of very good restaurants, nice walking area, museums, etc. For coffee use networks Koffeemania, Coffee Bean, Starbucks
